When looking at my double page spread, I soon realised that it did not have a sense of continuity because the colours did not match as well as I had hoped because the text background was red whilst the background for the picture was a brick wall with a mild red/brown colour. This made the magazine seem more rigid and not in sync with each other which is what a DPS (Double Page Spread) should not be like. To make the DPS appeal more to my target audience I adapted the text on the left hand side whilst changing the background colour on the right hand side from red to a more brown/red colour. These improvements have helped the DPS very much because the text is clearer to read which was an important point made by my target audience in the questionnaire and the background change made the DPS more suited for my target audience.
After those improvements I soon noticed that at the bottom of the page was too much "dead space" at the top right and bottom of the page which no magazine has so as a result my DPS appeared less professional. To counter this I made a banner/highlight feature at the bottom of the page to fill the space and a website advert like many magazines have on the to right of my DPS.
